The Philippines has solid support wherever Clarkson wants to go

I must say this. The whole  Philippines will support every move that Jordan Clarkson does in his NBA journey. He is well-loved here including yours truly.
The Filipinos' solid backing of him reciprocates his sincerest desires to represent the country in the world stage or any international tournament.
He already played for the  national team, Gilas Pilipinas, twice in the FIBA world and the Asian Games.
Through the years, the Lakers have a solid fan base from here but the Warriors got a piece of the piece starting from the dynasty era that was built around players like Stephen, Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, Dreymond Green and of course coach Steve Kerr. That I think is more applied to the younger generation of basketball fans who of course did not in anyway fully grasp the heydays of the vintage Lakers like Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Magic Johnson, James Worth and later the duo of Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal
There is no team yet that can match Lakers popularity from here, even as the Warriors were close to getting that.
As soon as Clarkson started with the Lakers, he also started getting his special place in the hearts of Filipino jaded fans and that has fortified more the unmatched Lakers' followers in the country. There is no need for statistics to prove that claim. But it's how I feel and being felt by most in my own community of NBA fanatics.
When Jordan went to the Cavs as part of the mega deal that sent Lebron James to the Lakers, Clarkson fairly brought us there until his eventually landing spot to the Jazz as a sixth man, an appropriate feat that has so far define his stature in the league. He won that award right away, cementing his status as the unprecedented number one NBA player choice for Filipinos.
His Filipino roots of course has something to do with that.
The Jazz, counting the years of the John Stockton and Karl Malone era, have instantly got a fair share of following here mainly because of Clarkson.
This is especially when the Lakers started with a dismal 0-5 start. You can hear people say that they are disappointed of that and they prefer more to watching every game of the Jazz.
Utah Jazz started winning games early and it was very promising and that Clarkson was always very consistent with his role, especially in the scoring side of the game.
Lately, however, the Jazz caved in and moving down the ladder.
It's too early to predict. But whatever happens, a Jazz game will always be fun to watch.
The other day, Clarkson has reportedly rejected an extension contract with the Jazz. If that is true, he will have the option of becoming a free agent for next season.
By doing that, it may also be because of an option for him to make his shot at a bigger salary offer. He has the right to do that being a pro.
The deadline for on season trade is about a month away and I don't think the Jazz would let him go considering his crucial role in the team.
In the meantime, let us give him a spot in the voting for the 2023 all-star.
