The Philippines has solid support wherever Clarkson wants to go

Image
I must say this. The whole  Philippines will support every move that Jordan Clarkson does in his NBA journey. He is well-loved here including yours truly.      The Filipinos' solid backing of him reciprocates his sincerest desires to represent the country in the world stage or any international tournament.       He already played for the  national team, Gilas Pilipinas, twice in the FIBA world and the Asian Games.     Through the years, the Lakers have a solid fan base from here but the Warriors got a piece of the piece starting from the dynasty era that was built around players like Stephen, Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, Dreymond Green and of course coach Steve Kerr. That I think is more applied to the younger generation of basketball fans who of course did not in anyway fully grasp the heydays of the vintage Lakers like Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Magic Johnson, James Worth and later the duo of Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Ne...

Cristiano Ronaldo leaves Europe to face new challenge in Middle-East

Image
A screenshot of a post by Cristiano Ronaldo's wife Georgina Rodriguez on Instagram. It will be a continuation of course of an illustrious achievement in the game that introduced him to the world stage.     Soccer great Cristiano Ronaldo, as we now know it, is leaving Europe to face a new challenge in the Middle-East.     In the next few years we may no longer have the chance to watch him display his brilliant skills in the battlefield of the biggest soccer stadiums in Europe as we had in over two decades.      Less than a month after Portugal's early exit from the 2022 Qatar World Cup, Ronaldo signed with Saudi Arabia's famous football club Al-Nassr, a move that he said is a new challenge he has to face.      At the press conference where he officially announced this twist of event leaving the soccer world in shock, Ronald said his children and the family as a whole is at his back.      By saying that, Ronaldo ...

Lebron remains a saleable NBA asset

Image
Lebron James was cheering and walking and clapping hands infront of the Lakers bench as the game was still in progress in today's NBA game at homecourt.      The Crypto.com Arena was packed with celebrities.       Lebron's team was leading by as much as 19 points in the final four minutes of the game. He was already rested by coach Darvin Ham more than a minute earlier.      At that point, the second unit were there to finish off the assignment except  for Dennis Shrouder and Russel Westbrook on the floor, there was no sign of threat from the Atlanta Hawks. The bench warmers like Thomas Bryant, Max Christie and Kendrick Nunn were determined and aggresive from both ends of the floor.      As expected the Lakers won in stride, 130-114. James finished with 25 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists.     After the game he personally went to every possible celebrity he could find to greet and even hug and sh...

Maybe Nets' time

Image
Brooklyn Nets booked their 11th straight win and because of this I just can feel that maybe this is the year they have been waiting for.      The Nets have been touted as one of the best teams in the league the past two years since the superstar trio experiment of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden.       But expectations did not materialize and they had to send Harden to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Ben Simmons.      Although they have started this year on a rollercoaster ride.      After a 13-12 record, the Nets are now 24-12 behind league leading Boston Celtics (26-10).      The Nets repeated their mastery over the Atlanta Hawks and the Hornets this early in the season.       With a strong backup from TJ Warren, Royce O'Neale, Nic Claxton, Yuta Watanabe, Seth Curry and Edmond Sumner, the Nets are not really leaning all its hopes behind its superstar trio.   ...

Luka's magic hits me too like vintage Magic Johnson did

Image
Like anyone else, the Luka Magic amazes me too. But there's no miracle in it. It's all for real. Luka Doncic's magic tricks inside the playing court are something he does very ordinarily in every NBA game. He doesn't even have to practice those tricks. It just comes as need be. The original magician of the NBA of course is the legendary Earvin 'Magic' Johnson of the vintage Lakers squad. Magic Johnson should still be uncompamparable to anyone. Dallas Maverick's Doncic is just as close enough to it but I am so delighted that there is someone with the same mold now who has great entertainment value to the NBA. The league needs players like Doncic because of his athletic ability and his entertaining assets which we all now call the Luka Magic. Magic Johnson and Luka Doncic have something in common. They are both big guards at six feet five inches and they can play the point role. Both displays multiple roles in on both ends of the flo...

Claxton leads season in field goals

Image
Nic Claxton If there's anyone in the NBA that is relatively young and have infatuated me most aside from Ja Morant, Luka Doncic, Jordan Clarkson and Jalen Green, Nic Claxton of the Brooklyn Nets has qualified to my taste of a player.      Claxton is currently leading the league this season in field goal percentage with 73.8 percent.  He's averaging 11.6 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists prior to the Nets' game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Dec 23.      The Nets rolled to their eight straight win over the league's co-leader Bucks, 128-100, at home.       Claxton finished with 19-8-5 (point-rebound-assist). They are now 21-12 at fourth in the East.      Playing alongside Kevin Durant at forward position, the three-year pro had a career average of 6.7 percent after the 2021-2022 season.      I like this guy's work ethic as the 23-year old native of Greenville, South Carolina knows how to positi...
