Argentina still savoring world cup win

Argentinians continue to hold the biggest celebrations at home a week after their national team's historic conquest of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Reports estimate that about five million people went to the streets of the nation's capital city of Buenos Aires to greet team captain Lionel Messi and the rest of the line-up including Gonzalo Montiel and goal keeper Emiliano Martinez.
Images of the celebrations inundated Facebook, Twitter and Instagram the past three days -- scenes that are so inspiring to look at from far across the ocean.
And it inspires us also to look back at the tournament. The final game betwee Argentina was indeed the greatest ever played in the history of the World Cup.
For Messi it was a dream is come true. His mission for a first ever WC title after fivecattempts was accomplished in a terrific fashion. It was a fitting end to his illustrious career. His amazing performance throughout the tournament most especially in the finals has proved his deep passion for the sport of soccer.
Argentina dethroned defending champion France but the French must also be credited for their amazing fight.
Gylian Mbappe, France team captain, pushed the game to the limit but there has to be a winner.
Although, France lost Mbappe did not disappoint as he even tied the score in the extra time with a rare hattrick.
At 25, Mbappe has still a long way to go especially now that Messi, 35, has signified intention retire.
Argentina won the 2022 Qatar World Cup by beating France decided by a penalty shootout (4-3) after a 3-3 draw at the Lusail Stadium.
For sure the celebrations will continue in Argentina for the rest of the year. They have all the reasons for that.
For France, there will always be next time to look forward to.
